Meet Jeff and Lauren Olsen, CCC's THIRST Leaders...

Jeff and Lauren were both raised in loving Christian homes and learned about God at an early age from their parents. Lauren first accepted Christ at age 5 and Jeff accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior as a freshman in high school at age 14. Since then, God has been doing incredible things in their lives. Jeff has been attending CCC since 1991, and Lauren first came in 2005. Jeff and Lauren became good friends while serving together with the youth group at CCC. In 2005, Jeff joined the United States Marine Corps.

During this time, Lauren and Jeff remained close friends. In 2007, they got engaged to be married before Jeff was deployed to Iraq. After God brought him back from his deployment, they were married in April, 2008. During the last year of Jeff's active duty service, they were forced to spend a lot of time apart because of various deployments, but God brought them through difficult times and finally back to Massachusetts and Christ Community Church. 

Jeff and Lauren were actively involved in the College and Career Group at CCC as young college students and they're grateful to be serving in a ministry that is devoted to the spiritual growth of young adults as they pursue Christ-likeness.  Jeff and Lauren are both full time students at Bridgewater State University, where Jeff is pursuing a degree in Exercise Science and Lauren is majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Spanish. 

In her free time, Lauren enjoys cooking, spending time with friends and family and hot beverages on cold days.  Jeff enjoys working out, being outdoors and eating whatever Lauren cooks!  They also enjoy spending time with their cat "Freebird" who is often more entertaining than anything on television.  They are grateful for all God is doing in the Taunton area and look forward to all He has yet to do!

What Is Spiritual Thirst?

Spiritual thirst is a way of describing a person's own search for God. What motivates a person to seek after God?

The Thirst Ministry is comprised of young adults, graduated from high school - age 29,  who fellowship and worship collectively to learn God's Word through applicable teaching. We strive to encourage and accept one another so that we can reach out to other young adults who seek to grow in their personal relationship with God. There are a wide variety of exciting events and activities on the weekends all throughout the year.
