The Bible Is The Word Of God
”Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Matthew 9:37
The Word of God
We believe the Bible is the Word of God, verbally and fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. – 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in Three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; that these are equal in every divine perfection and they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption. – Matthew 28:18-19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
God the Father
We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. – John 1:12, 18; Ephesians 1:3-6
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teaching. We believe in His substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, ascension to heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal visible return to earth. – Luke 1:35; John 1:1, 14, 18; Romans 3:24-26; 1 Corinthians 15:50-55
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment and to regenerate, sanctify and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit permanently indwells every believer in Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide. – Matthew 28:19; Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 6:19; John 16:7-11
We believe that all things in heaven and earth were created by God out of nothing and exist by His power. – Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16-17
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but fell from his original state through his disobedience to God in the garden and that all succeeding members of the human race are sinners by nature and by choice. We believe that man is separated from God by his sin and cannot by himself be rejoined to God. – Genesis 1:27; 2:17; 3:19; Ephesians 2:1-3
We believe that salvation is the gift of God and is received by personal faith in Jesus Christ whose blood was shed for the forgiveness of sins. We believe that our redemption has been accomplished by means of the grace of God and is not the result of any human works. – Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12; Ephesians 2:5-6
We believe in the universal church, a living, spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the church the primary task of giving the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. We believe in the local church, consisting of a body of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith and associated for worship, work and fellowship. – Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:42-27; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church; Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water into the Name of the Triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death, the elements being symbolic. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. – Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47,48; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
We believe that the next great event in the fulfillment of prophecy is the personal return of Jesus Christ to remove from the earth His church and to reward each believer according to his works.” – 2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.“After the removal of the church, the righteous judgments of God will be poured out on the unbelieving world climaxed by the glorious return of Jesus Christ to the earth with His saints to establish His millennial kingdom. – Revelation 19:11-16; 20:1-6
We believe that at death the souls of believers pass immediately into the presence of Jesus Christ. When Christ returns for the church they will be reunited with their glorified bodies and associated with Him forever in glory. At death the souls of unbelievers pass immediately into torment. At the close of the millennium they will be reunited with their bodies, judged before the Great White Throne, then cast into the lake of fire, not to be annihilated, but to be separated from God forever in conscious punishment. – 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Revelation 20:11-15
